It is our pleasure to introduce you to our organization, HERO FAMILY OUTREACH.
Thousands of US Veterans have been diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) from combat while serving our country. They suffer from nightmares, headaches, survivor's guilt, and social anxiety to the point that they rarely feel comfortable leaving their home. Loud, sudden noises take them back to war-torn countries. Many are missing limbs.
Hero Family Outreach is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, serving our Military and First Responder families. Every HFO event is carefully designed to engage the communities in which our Heroes live and serve. Our programs are geared toward helping reduce the suicide rates of these men and women who so boldly serve for our freedoms.
45,000 suicides occur each year, with 6 additional attempts for every 1 suicide. The highest at-risk groups are our Military and First Responders suffering from PTSD, as their suicide numbers outweigh in-line of duty deaths. HFO is combating these numbers by building long-term relationships with our Hero families. This is accomplished by the following programs and events:
1. Paws 4PTSD: Providing Combat Veterans with Service Dogs
2. QPR Gatekeeper Training: Suicide Prevention Classes
3. Packages 4Patriots: Military & First Responder Care Packages
4. The Walk: HFO Outdoor Retreat (Coming soon)
HFO relies on our Partnerships and fundraising to make these programs and events possible. 100% of funds and item donations received are poured back into making these relationships possible. Our hope is that you will join us in our mission to honor our Hero families.
